Nurse Advocates Function as Partners, Collaborators, Liaisons, and Community Resource Links:
Nurse Advocates partner with clients and their families while joining their healthcare journey to help educate, support, and navigate/guide them through difficult healthcare decisions. Nurse advocates gently remind clients of their rights and are fierce supporters or their client’s decisions. Nurse Advocates ensure all questions are answered and bear signature witness to Informed Consent forms attesting that client’s have been fully educated and understand all of the risks, benefits, and any evidenced-based alternatives available (second opinions) BEFORE they sign the Informed Consent forms.
RNPAS believes ‘it takes a village’ and that ‘team-work makes the dream work’ and as their client’s professional Advocate, RNPAS will utilize and link clients to community resources and ancillary staff as needed. Communication, partnership, and collaboration are crucial for effective, positive client outcomes.
